Cindy Blackstock

Cindy Blackstock is a Gitxsan scholar and activist with 25 years of social work experience in child protection and Indigenous children's rights. Cindy holds an M.A both in Management from McGill and Jurisprudence from Loyola University Chicago, and a Ph.D in Social Work. Cindy is currently an Executive director of First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada and an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Extension at the University of Alberta. Cindy is recipient to over 40 awards related to her research on Indigenous adoption, social work practice and children’s rights.
